Ashley and Ryan are getting married in DC in June. I actually photographed Ashley's friend's wedding about 3 years ago - so we have met before. We had a good time at the session and I know I will have a great time working with them both at their wedding.

Kristen and Bob are getting married on May 7th in DC. It was the first time I had met Bob - and I really enjoyed working with them both. The plans are coming together nicely for their wedding - and I know it's going to be a wonderful event.

Kat and Eric's Wedding - March 19, 2011

Kat and Eric are a super couple. Kat is heavily involved in community service, and Eric is a writer. He has walked across America to raise money for a charity and written a book. And, of course, they have a beautiful dog called "Rio" who was part of the wedding party - for a dog lover what could be better! They got married in Middelburg at a lovely quaint church - a very memorable wedding!

Ashley and Steven's Wedding - March 12, 2011

Ashley and Steven got married in Ashburn and had their reception at Belmont Country Club. Ashley looked gorgeous - a lovely girl. Steven was a handsome groom. The weather was glorious - very lucky for the time of year. Jeremy and I had a great time photographing their wedding. I've posted some of Jeremy's pics in the bride and groom section of the blog. He did a great job and produced some beautiful images.

This is a cushion that Steven's mom made specially for the day. It was beautiful and was embroidered with their names.

Misty and Chris Engagement Session

Misty and Chris got engaged recently and we decided to do their engagement session now - so they could get their save the dates out. They are obviously so much in love - a beautiful couple! We started off at the garden at the studio so we could do a couple of photos with Misty's dogs (I love pet portraits too). Then just for fun we went to the Reston Town Center where we did some environmental pics. Congratulations to them both! Here are a couple of the pics from the shoot.

Baby Portraits

My main focus during the summer is wedding photography, but I also love doing baby portraits. In the cooler months the session takes place in studio. In the summer we can do portraits in the garden and on location. Baby "S" below - was just five months old and was absolutely adorable. I also like to photograph new-born babies.

This time of year I always seem to be busy with headshots. I've been downtown several times lately. Headshots can also be done in my studio in Reston. My headshot package includes two hi-res images retouched - see samples below. I enjoy meeting new people and work quickly and efficiently.

Earlier this year we added a Photo Booth to our collection. Photo booths offer a great activity at an event. Our photo booth is available in VA, MD, DC and the metro area for bar/bat mitzvahs/weddings/corporate events. Inspite of the difficult economy Anne Lord Photography did extremely well last year.

I am blessed to be doing what I love and have met so many wonderful people. The year ahead is looking promising and I'm excited for the season to get underway!

There were too many weddings in 2010 to post something from each, but I've selected a few to post on the blog. Thanks to all the wonderful brides who made last year so special!

CAITLIN AND JASON..... another GORGEOUS couple. They had their wedding at Meadowlark Gardens in the Fall last year.

Caitlin is not only a beautiful person on the outside - she is a beautiful person inside too. Her grace and elegance reminded me of Grace Kelly. Jason is such a nice guy too!

We literally ran out of light during the bride and goom portraits .... so ended up doing a silhouette shot as the sun set.

RACHEL AND MIKE got married in Fredericksburg. I loved this wedding - Rachel is beautiful to photograph. They have since moved overseas and I wish them well!

EMILY AND BEN .... got married at The Briar Patch in Middelburg - I love this venue - and it's charm just perfectly matched Emily and Ben who are such a fun, stylish couple!

LAURA AND GREG - what a gorgeous couple. Laura is a ballet dancer - and so elegant. We went and visited a wonderful new venue called the Rosemont Inn. The Rosemont Inn is a great venue in Berryville, VA. It is a beautiful inn that was original owned by Senator Harry Byrd. It has been beautifully decorated and refurbished. I'm going to be photographing a wedding there in 2011 and am very excited.

KRISTI AND SAM got married last November. Sam is a qualified lawyer - but an entrepreneur. They have their own mobile cup cake company that they operate in DC, Curbside Cup Cakes. They are a very special couple and had their wedding and reception at the Ronald Reagan Building- what a great venue.

The ceremony was particularly special. Sam and Kristi had written their own vows and read them to each other. Such beautiful words - not a dry eye (including the photographer!)

It was getting dark soon after the ceremony - but we went outside and got some great shots.

Of course - the cake was made of cup cakes - and the cup cakes are absolutely delicious!

This was Sam and Kristi's wedding cake - provided by their very own cup cake company Curbside Cupcakes. I can testify that the cup cakes are absolutely delicious. They are the first mobile cupcake company and service the DC downtown area.

AMY AND JUAN were married at a wonderful venue Herrington on the Bary. It is almost like being on a caribbean island!

Amy and Juan met in Costa Rica where Amy was working with the Peace Corps. Juan is a very talented artist and now lives with Amy in the USA. They were a pleasure to work with and I wish them well.

After the ceremony we were able to do some bride and groom portraits on the beach.

Amy and her mother did a great job with all the details. Amy likes butterflies and flowers and they featured in the wedding as you can see below with some of the images.

A New Chapter

Well. After many, many months - I have finally got my blog up and running. I've realized how important blogging is - but somehow there never seems to be enough time. So I am delighted that I now have it live and ready to roll. Happy blogging....
